A Novel Take

(One)

English majors are creative by nature. When it comes to improvising and innovating, there's no one more capable. Where most people see a dead end, English majors can spot opportunity and hidden potential. They can look at old problems and offer new and unexplored solutions. They're generally a bit quirky, sure. But they have the ability to see the world from a unique perspective, and that's a valuable asset for any employer.

(Two)

English majors are communication experts. Whether it's written or verbal, they have been trained to express their ideas clearly and concisely. They can spell, they can pull out the right word for any situation, and they can string together sentences like no other. On top of that, English majors are typically good speakers, too. A big part of speaking clearly and calmly is confidence, and a big part of confidence comes from knowing the language inside and out. In short, English majors were made for customer service.

(Three)

Working hard and being productive is important in any business, everyone knows that. But equally important is the sense of companionship and camaraderie between coworkers. English majors make great colleagues because they bring a sense of humor with them wherever they go, including to the workplace. They are eccentric and fun, and they have the innate ability to improve the spirits of the people around them, be it through witty jokes, a sense of adventure, or a modest, approachable demeanor. You'll be hard-pressed to find an English major you don't want to be around.
